If Your Daughter is Struggling With
Balance, Control or Alignment
If your daughter is struggling with balance control or alignment, receiving disappointing competition or exam results, or feeling stuck and unsure how to improve, there’s a very real chance I can help.
Every week, mums just like you reach out with the same concerns:
- Why can’t my daughter do the movements she needs to do?
- Why does she seem to be falling behind other dancers?
- Why isn’t her strength and flexibility translating into real technique?
- Why does she keep trying, but nothing seems to change?
These are questions I know deeply, because I lived them myself.Â
A Journey Many Dance Mums Recognise
I started dancing at a local studio at just four years old.
Throughout my journey, my mum invested hundreds of thousands of dollars searching for answers, lessons, privates, intensives, physiotherapy, and everything in between.
We were doing all the right things, yet something was still missing.
After 22 years in dance, a professional career, and thousands of hours coaching my own students, I finally identified the real issue.
It wasn’t effort, it wasn’t talent and it wasn’t choreography.
It was the foundational movement skills that most dance schools simply don’t have the time to teach, while balancing group classes, eisteddfods, concerts, exams, and packed schedules.
Why This Program Exists
Many dancers train hard, stretch often, build strength and yet still feel unstable, inconsistent, or stuck.
That gap is exactly why the Foundations of Movement Program was created.
This program focuses on three non-negotiable foundations that allow dancers to actually use their flexibility and strength inside real dance movement, not just drills.
When these foundations are in place, movement becomes stronger, more confident, and more consistent.
Â
Balance
Helps dancers stay steady and controlled instead of wobbly or unstable. This will lead to cleaner turns, stronger single-leg work, and greater confidence on stage.
Control
Allows dancers to move with ease rather than force. This allows them to lift higher, move faster, and land jumps safely with precision and calmness.
Alignment
Creates clean lines and a polished look. This supports better posture, stronger turnout, and stretched legs and feet in every movement.
With balance, control, and alignment working together, dancers stop struggling and start moving with confidence, consistency, and technical strength.
What This Means for Your Daughter
More confident, controlled movement
She feels stable, capable, and in control, even under pressure.
Technique that finally transfers into choreography

About Lucinda
I'm a former professional dancer, RAD-registered teacher, qualified PDHPE teacher, and the founder of VR The Movement. I help young dancers build the strength, flexibility, and confidence they need to feel proud of their progress.
I wasn't naturally strong or flexible growing up, so I understand exactly what it feels like to work hard, try your best, and still feel stuck. I also know how frustrating that can be for both dancers and parents.Â
The truth is, most dance schools simply don't have the time to slow down and teach the deep fundamentals. Classes move fast. There's choreography to learn, exams to prepare for, and very little space to focus on the technique, strength foundations, and flexibility training dancers truly need.
That's where my programs come in. After training at Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy and The Australian Ballet School, dancing professionally with The Washington Ballet, completing my Royal Academy of Dance qualification, and teaching for more than 12 years, I've developed a clear, supportive way of teaching that makes everything easier to understand.
I break movements down, help dancers feel what their bodies should be doing, and give them the tools to improve safely, consistently, and with confidence.
VR The Movement is a place where dancers feel supported, encouraged, and genuinely cared for. Your child won't get lost in the crowd. I'm here to guide them, believe in them, and help them achieve real progress they can see, feel, and be proud of.
